Based on qualitative data obtained within the framework of ethnographic research carried out in popular neighborhoods of the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area (AMBA) and the analysis of images that circulate on social networks in relation to “mamás luchonas” (wrestling moms), we ask ourselves about the characteristics adopted by the discursive and symbolic struggles of production of meaning in relation to these young and poor mothers, particularly those who are beneficiaries of state social assistance. As hypothesis, we maintain that the public discussion around the issue is colored by prejudices and falsehoods that place young women in a blaming and stigmatizing place, making their concrete experiences and agentive capacities invisible. Thus, the conditions of production are built for the emergence of a sexual panic (Elizalde, 2009) that feeds on these discourses and representations, placing fears and emotionalities in youth sexualities where sex always implies risk or danger.
2025-07-01T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 https://revistasacademicas.unsam.edu.ar/index.php/papdetrab/article/view/1990¿Lo personal es político? 2025-07-07T17:15:54+00:00Camila Losada camila.paula.losada@gmail.comJulia Winokurwinokur.julia@gmail.com
In this article we intend to analyze how the life experiences of tango and circus mother artists of the City of Buenos Aires and the AMBA are configured, and how their problematics are addressed from the feminist militancy movements that in recent years were organized and proliferated within these disciplines. For this, we resorted to interviews and ethnographic fieldwork conducted between 2020 and 2024. Understanding the similarities and particularities of each field, we conclude, first, that despite the effects of the process of feminist politicization and the cultural and legal changes that cross the artistic field and society in general, circus and tango artists are immersed in unequal gender relations, which deepen with motherhood. Secondly, we find that the demands and struggles that are framed in feminist organizations, as well as the actions and claims that are driven by the artists themselves, show a persistence of the division between the public and private spheres, leaving the issues surrounding motherhood and care off the agenda.
2025-07-01T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 https://revistasacademicas.unsam.edu.ar/index.php/papdetrab/article/view/1991Prácticas culturales y cuerpo en el fragor de la construcción masculina2025-07-07T17:19:36+00:00Ezequiel Martín Pannelliezequielpannelli@gmail.com
This work analyzes the cultural practices of young men in La Matanza. Their narratives reveal mechanisms of power in their gender relations and highlight the body as a key regulator of their activities. In this sense, the dynamics between masculinities play a central role. The attributes assigned to the body and its performance influence how these young men engage in leisure activities. As a result, they must negotiate their identities and adapt their practices. The dialogues they establish with these identities and their social actors are crucial both in shaping their activities and in constructing their gender identity. The decisions and actions they take in response to these dynamics have a significant impact on how they build and express their masculinities. For this reason, this study focuses on how these practices affect this process.
2025-07-01T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 https://revistasacademicas.unsam.edu.ar/index.php/papdetrab/article/view/1992Jóvenes que escriben libros para jóvenes2025-07-07T17:21:37+00:00Victoria Saezsaezvictoria@live.com
Since the beginning of the second decade of the 21st century, two phenomena have developed around the circulation of literature among young people: the presence of digital technologies in literary reading and writing practices and the growth of the youth segment in the publishing market. One of the phenomena that embodies this coupling is the publication of fiction books under different publishing imprints by young people who produce book-related content on platforms. This article focuses particularly on the trajectories, productions, perceptions, and public interventions of three Argentine booktokers who have published novels. Three dimensions are addressed: their professional paths, their configuration as authors, and their role as influencers. Among the main findings, it is observed that the logic of platforms, articulated with publishing strategies, affects the discourses and dynamics of this space, which are increasingly aligned with a neoliberal rationality supported by the figure of the entrepreneur and personal success, promoting situations of labor precarization and creating tensions with the idea of community, which is how this universe is typically presented.
2025-07-01T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 https://revistasacademicas.unsam.edu.ar/index.php/papdetrab/article/view/1993Prácticas cinematográficas en la juventud chilena2025-07-07T17:23:43+00:00Rocío Guajardo Quiñonesrocio.guajardo@usach.cl
Cultural practices are an area of study and reflection of significant interest, forming a fruitful research agenda in Latin America and other parts of the world (García-Canclini, 1990; Rosas Mantecón, 2018; Gayo, Méndez, Radakovich and Wortman, 2021). Given the successive and fast changes that have occurred in recent decades in terms of consumption and artistic-cultural production, it is important to explain how these transformations materialize in people's daily lives, and in this particular case, in those middle-class young people who develop an interest in cinematographic art that transgresses or escapes their class habitus (Bourdieu, 1979). This article exposes the cinematographic and audiovisual cultural practices of a group of young people in Chile in a context of cultural inequality (Peters, 2023). Based on a qualitative methodology and the study of biographical trajectories through semi-structured interviews, the main findings of the research show the adaptation of teens to adverse contexts and the generation of diverse strategies to develop cultural consumption according to their interests. The conclusions emphasize the heterogeneity of cinematographic and audiovisual cultural practices of this particular group, despite the geographical and symbolic boundaries of their immediate environment.
2025-07-01T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 https://revistasacademicas.unsam.edu.ar/index.php/papdetrab/article/view/1994Pistas y desafíos para la comprensión de prácticas político-culturales de jóvenes migrantes2025-07-07T17:25:32+00:00Silvia H.S. The methodological protocol implemented includes and combines participant observation, informal conversations and audiovisual recordings, in ethnographic inspired fieldwork. The text aims to analyze and understand data produced during participation and attendance at meeting places and/or events promoted by these young people. Three analytical axes stand out from the fieldwork carried out: collectives and associative networks; interculturality and hybridisms; identities, resistances and re-existences. Some results can be summarized from this theoretical-methodological articulation: network and collective actions intensify the interweaving of culture and politics, which are enhanced by intercultural characteristics and processes that, in turn, enable the expansion of forms of resistance and re-existence.
2025-07-01T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 https://revistasacademicas.unsam.edu.ar/index.php/papdetrab/article/view/1997Total interferencia2025-07-07T17:32:04+00:00Javier Gañánjavier.ganan@fcpolit.unr.edu.ar
The aim of this paper is to analyze the different administrations of the Ministry of Security of Santa Fe Province, focusing on the varying degrees of governance and misgovernance of public security during the governorships of Antonio Bonfatti and Miguel Lifschitz. This is an exploratory and descriptive study on a subject scarcely addressed in previous academic literature, developing original variables based on the operationalization of the concept of security governance. While security governance is not exempt from the uncertainties inherent to any governmental process, the lack of strategic foundations –reflected in limited expertise, difficulties in institutional management, and ambivalent public policies– suggests that, during the period under review, significant forms of political misgovernance in public security were present.
