Aproximación preliminar a las narrativas juveniles en torno a la covid-19 en Guadalajara, México

Resumen

Cuando un suceso resulta excesivamente sobrecogedor, éste suele dislocar los ejes desde los que se interpreta la realidad. Coloca tanto a los actores como a las instituciones frente a la necesidad de adecuarse a un entorno contingente. Badiou y otros han denominado a esta situación como acontecimiento. Con el cerco sanitario y la cuarentena establecidos desde comienzos del 2020 en la ciudad china de Wuhan, y la posterior proliferación global de la COVID- 19, se inauguró lo que sin duda es un acontecimiento en la historia contemporánea. La llegada a México del virus obligó a las autoridades a poner en marcha un conjunto de medidas de mitigación de los riesgos pandémicos ancladas sobre todo en el control social. Más allá de los aspectos vinculados con la salud pública, estas medidas tendrán impactos significativos en el plano sociocultural que permanecerán luego de la pandemia. Ante ello vale la pena interrogarse acerca de ¿cuáles son algunas de las coordenadas en las que se despliegan las subjetividades juveniles frente a este acontecimiento? Para responder a esta pregunta, en este artículo se documenta la experiencia vivida por las y los jóvenes de entre 15 y 29 años en torno a las estrategias de mitigación de los riesgos pandémicos (i. e. cuarentena, distanciamiento social). Los hallazgos sugieren la reconfiguración de tres aspectos que trascienden a la coyuntura pandémica: 1. La profundización de las desigualdades que atraviesan a los mundos juveniles; 2. El papel de la variable tecno-digital en el proceso de producción de las subjetividades juveniles (asociado con una inesperada tendencia al desapego mediático); y 3. La creciente ineficacia simbólica que tiene entre la juventud el discurso institucional-gubernamental en términos del afianzamiento de la seguridad ontológica de este sector de la población.
