The research group “Poetik und Hermeneutik” played an important part in the German intellectual landscape between the 60’s and the 90’s. It gathered a new generation of scholars who wanted to become independent of the main philosophical trends of the early years of the Federal Republic of Germany, whose leaders were authors from the Interwar Period such as Heidegger, Gadamer or Adorno. This paper intends to cast some light on the cultural and existential background of this association of thinkers. For this reason, it focuses on the repercussions that the debates on the concept of Myth held at the 4th Congress of the group had on three of its main authors, Hans Blumenberg, Odo Marquard and Jacob Taubes. Thus, the work on this concept shows the power that the Conceptual History still has and allows us to go beyond the academic quarrel and discover, so to speak, the living core that boosted this fruitful workshop and turned it into the voice of a generation that still has something to say.
