challenges and background in the electricity sector

Fuel poverty is a serious and complicated issue; which Governments are trying to tackle in a number of ways. Historically, the policy instruments implemented were social tariff and financial assistance for vulnerable consumer’s protection. The instrument design has improved but still presents big challenges. Meanwhile, European countries have been taking actions to implement energy efficiency policies to help vulnerable households.
