Committed to quality and scientific rigor, Anuario TAREA employs a multi-stage peer review process.

First, the editorial team will verify that the submitted manuscript complies with the formatting guidelines and editorial standards established by Anuario TAREA. In addition, the work’s potential relevance and contribution to the journal thematic focus and scope will be assessed. This initial review process typically takes approximately 15 days.

Once this stage is completed, the original manuscripts submitted to the dossier section, along with research articles and research advances, will undergo external peer review by specialists in the relevant field. This process follows a double-blind review system, ensuring the anonymity of both authors and reviewers. Critical reviews, however, will not be subject to this review process.

Peer Review Process

Two reviewers will be assigned to evaluate each submission. Reviewers may accept or decline the invitation to review, depending on their availability and any potential conflicts of interest. Upon acceptance, they will receive an evaluation guide or form to provide their suggestions, critiques, or contributions regarding the manuscript. The possible recommendations are: (a) accept for publication without revisions; (b) accept for publication with revisions or amendments; or (c) reject for publication. Anonymity will be maintained between all parties throughout the review process. The suggested time for this stage is 40 days.

Editorial Decision and Publication Process

Reviewers may recommend acceptance of the manuscript either without or with revisions. In the latter case, the authors will be notified of the decision and must resubmit the revised manuscript incorporating the suggested changes within 30 days. The editorial team will verify the incorporation of these modifications and proceed with the editing and layout stages prior to publication.

If both reviewers unanimously recommend rejection, the authors will be informed of the decision and the corresponding review reports will be provided. In cases of a split decision (one reviewer recommends acceptance and the other rejection), a third reviewer will be appointed to issue a final recommendation.

The estimated time from final acceptance to publication is 90 days. In all cases, the Editorial Board reserves the right to make the final decision regarding the publication of submitted and reviewed contributions.
