Author Guidelines

Overview

Anuario TAREA welcomes during the year contributions and proposals for its various sections, including articles, research advances, and reviews. Simultaneously, specific calls for articles for different thematic dossiers or special issues are organized.

Anuario Tarea publishes originals and unpublished works. If the article is the result of a project financed by an institution, proper acknowledgment of the funding source is required.

Manuscripts submitted to the Dossier, Articles, and Research Advances sections will undergo external peer review through a double-blind evaluation process. The final decision is made by the Editorial Board, based on the assessments provided by the external reviewers. Reviews are not subject to blind peer review.

Manuscript Length Guidelines

Regarding length, articles may contain up to 60,000 characters (excluding spaces), including footnotes, and a maximum of 15 images. Research Advances are limited to a máximum of 20,000 characters (excluding spaces), including footnotes and bibliography, and may also include up to 15 images. For Review articles, the maximum length allowed is 12,000 characters, excluding spaces.

Language and Translation Guidelines

Manuscripts may be submitted in Spanish, Portuguese, or English. When the manuscript is written in Spanish or Portuguese, the title, abstract, and keywords must be included in English. When the manuscript is written in English, the title, abstract, and keywords must be provided in Spanish.

Submission format:

In order to help preserve the identity of the author during peer review, all documents sent when submitting an article should be anonymized. The author must remove all identifying information from the body of the text and the bibliography, replacing any self-references with the term “author”. A separate document must be submitted including the title of the manuscript along with the author's full name and contact details.
The final version of the article, research advance, or review must be submitted to: atarea@unsam.edu.ar

The main file must be named using the following format: “AT_article title”. This file should include on the first page: the Title (in the language of the manuscript), an Abstract (in the language of the manuscript, up to 200 words), Keywords (in the language of the manuscript, between three and five, separated by semicolons), the Title in English, an Abstract in English, and Keywords in English.

A separate file titled “AT_article title_author” must be submitted containing the following information: the full name(s) of the author(s), institutional affiliation (no acronyms), contact email address, ORCID (if available), and a brief biography (maximum of five lines).

Evaluation Procedure

All submissions will be initially reviewed by the Editorial Committee. Manuscripts submitted for the peer-reviewed sections (Dossier, Other Articles, and Research Advances) will undergo an external double-blind peer review process, ensuring the anonymity of both authors and reviewers.

The evaluation will result in one of the following decisions: Acceptance without modifications; Conditional acceptance pending formal and/or substantive revisions; or Rejection. However, the final decision rests with the Editorial Board.

General format

Titles and headings must be written in title case (capitalized initial letters of major words), aligned to the left margin, in bold font, and without a final period. Second-level subheadings, if any, may be differentiated using italics. The body text must use Times New Roman font, size 12, with 1.5 line spacing, justified alignment, and a 6-point space before and after each paragraph.

Footnotes should be placed at the bottom of the page (not at the end of the document). The references should always follow punctuation marks. Footnotes must be written in Times New Roman, size 10, with single line spacing and justified alignment. Authors are advised to include only essential notes that provide additional or clarifying information. Each footnote must not exceed 600 characters, including spaces.

DOIs, links to reference sources, examples, etc., should be checked twice.

Images, Figures, Tables, and Charts

Images and tables must not be embedded directly into the Word document. Instead, they should be submitted as separate files. Images must be in JPG format with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi. Tables must be submitted in an editable format.

Within the body of the text, references to these materials should appear in bold and in parentheses, using sequential numbering. On a separate page, authors must provide a list of Captions or descriptions, including the title and/or legend for each figure, table, and/or chart.

Figures should be cited in the text as (Fig. 1) and listed in the Captions as Fig. 1. The format for figure captions should include: Name and Surname of the author, Title, date, medium on support, dimensions (height x width x depth), collection, and city. Indicate copyright or authorship when applicable.

Tables should be cited in the text as (Table 1) and listed in the Captions as Table 1.

Charts should be cited in the text as (Chart 1) and listed in the Captions as Chart 1.

If the figures are not created by the author(s) or are taken from another source, the reference and/or authorship must be clearly indicated. Authors are responsible for obtaining the necessary rights or permissions for all images they wish to include. The inclusion of graphic images and tables is subject to the approval of the Editorial Board.
