Abstract

The article deals with the critic that Reinhart Koselleck makes to Otto
Brunner’s use of historical sources, which is regarded as a crucial point
to understand the methodological reflection of both German speakers
authors. This reflection is related, on one hand to the history of political
and social concepts; on the other to constitutional history. In addition,
it will be argued that methodological discussion had an important role
in the very concept of history and the meaning acquired by historiographical practice.
