Entre la tinta y los bits

Una revisión crítica y una propuesta teórica para el estudio de la recepción de noticias

Resumen

Este artículo ofrece una revisión sistemática de la literatura sobre la recepción de noticias. Mientras que la literatura sobre la prensa escrita ha abordado el consumo de noticias desde los factores sociodemográficos, el contenido y los hábitos asociados, los estudios sobre el consumo de noticias en pantalla se han enfocado en las prácticas y las motivaciones subyacentes. Tomadas en su conjunto, han tendido a centrarse en los medios como tecnologías aisladas de otras tecnologías, como meros artefactos transmisores de información y, en suma, desconectados de los tejidos más amplios de la vida cotidiana. Para suplir esta vacancia, este artículo propone retomar el encuadre de los estudios de recepción con una sensibilidad no centrada en los medios, para recomponer el ecosistema más amplio que conecta a las personas con prácticas y rituales desbordantes, que rozan e involucran a más de un artefacto mediático y que se sintetizan en una constelación de sentidos y representaciones culturales.
