Las Siete Partidas : entropía, control y variación: Un itinerario histórico-político de su existencia

Abstract

The aim of this paper is to show the process by which the Siete Partidas were subject to a politically aimed resignification. Our initial stance considers Siete Partidas as a key source to understand Iberian politics in different time frames. We will analyze in a philological and political way the path of Siete Partidas from the thirteenth to the twentieth century in order to understand the function of the text in its history. This analysis aims to show the task of stabilization made through the process of copying and editing. Our reading will focus on Gregorio López’s edition (1555), as an example of the aforementioned resigni fication phenomenon.
